Future Goals

I am anxious for my Spanish students to experience the language and culture first-hand.  Having learned Spanish as a second language myself, I know that real language acquisition doesn't happen until one lives it.  My goal for next year (or maybe the year after) is to organize, plan for, fundraise for, and lead a trip of Spanish II and III students to a Spanish-speaking country.   It is so important to be exposed to different peoples and cultures in order to foster understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of those cultures and also to increase understanding and evaluation of one's own customs and practices. Studying abroad is an invaluable experience and I can't wait to share it with my students!
